O.J. SIMPSON
11 A.M. OCT 1995. After a Los Angeles jury had returned a verdict of not guilty on two charges of murder, OJ Simpson returns to his home at 360 North Rockingham. This is the mansion whose gates, garden, landscaping and layout had become all too familiar as a bloody crime scene to the estimated 150 million Americans who watched coverage of the trial's climax on television.
One of the first things the former football star sees when he turns on the TV is silver-haired L.A. district attorney Gil Garcetti announcing that he has no plans to look for other killers. "Garcetti!" says Simpson. "He wouldn't even give me that! Why doesn't that guy give me something-just say he'll look into it?" Simpson then retreats into his bedroom, sitting down on the edge of his huge bed and gazing at the space he hasn't seen in 474days.
The thing about OJ, is that there is no rhyme or reason to him. Go ring his doorbell, just show up and if he's in the right mood, he'll talk to you. And he won't stop talking. Do I think he did it? If OJ Simpson committed this crime, it no longer exists in his mind.
